The evolution of the Top of The Baths began in July 1987 when the Government of the British Virgin Islands acquired the caves and the beach portion of The Baths. Prior to that, the Baths were always owned by various O'Neal family members.

It was our family's decision to reinvest in the homeland of my father's birth, the late Dr. Eric L. O'Neal, a surgeon and health care pioneer in the US Virgin Islands. He passed away in December of 1987.

His lifelong dream was to create an environment where the people of his ancestral home could always gather and enjoy nature's splendor as demonstrated in his letter to the Government of the British Virgin Islands: "..... as a belonger of British Virgin Islands ancestry, I am anxious that this work of nature belong to the people of my ancestral home in perpetuity."

In 1987 his dream became a reality.

We therefore decided to celebrate his desires and dreams by creating a harmonious setting for visitors and residents alike. In November of 1994 we opened

the doors at the Top of The Baths.

We hope that everyone visiting our establishment can feel the sense of pride and enjoyment in "Natures Little Secret" as we all do.
